Pumpkin Pie Pumpkin

Supplies:
orange cotton material cut into oval shapes (we cut ours about 8"x6")
poly-fil or cotton balls
green fleece scrap cut into a leaf shape (clip the center to create a hole for threading)
brown fleece (or another material that doesn't thread) scrap rolled and glued or a cinnamon stick
12" green curling ribbon
sewing scissors
pumpkin spices like nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon, ginger

*Prepare the craft for preschoolers by clipping 8 holes around the edges of the orange oval, about 1cm from the edge. Tie one end of the green ribbon into a hole. Cut the other end of the green ribbon at an angle so that it has a point and makes for easier sewing.

Directions:
1. Sew the green ribbon in and out of the holes all around the orange material. The material will begin to turn into a bowl-like shape.
2. Sprinkle about 1 teaspoon of spices into the center of the bowl shape.
3. Put a palmful of poly-fil on top of the spices.
4. Tighten the ribbon around the poly-fil to create a pumpkin shape.
5. Stuff one end of the cinnamon stick into the hole and tie a knot to keep the pumpkin in form.
6. Push the green fleece leaf through the ribbon. Tie both ribbon ends together to secure.
7. Curl the dangling ribbon.

These little pumpkins can decorate a Thanksgiving table or make a nice ThankYou gift for teachers and grandparents.
