Pumpkin Lacing

*Preschoolers can practice lacing these shapes while older children can try their hand at creating patterns, letters and numbers.

Supplies:
empty cereal or snack box
scissors
orange construction paper
12" (or longer) green ribbon
holepunch
glue

Directions:
1. Draw a pumpkin shape onto an empty box. Cut it out.
2. Trace the cardboard pumpkin onto the construction paper. Cut it out.
3. Glue the two pieces together.
4. Punch holes all around the pumpkin shape.
5. Tie one end of the green ribbon into the top hole. Cut the other end of the ribbon at a 90' angle so that the pointed end makes for easier threading.

This same craft can be done with an apple shape on red or green construction paper. Children can pretend the ribbon is a worm.
